HySecurity is the gate and barrier division of Nice North America, with its headquarters and a manufacturing plant in Kent, Washington. Founded in 1964, it has been part of Italy's Nice group since 2016. The range runs from electromechanical slide and swing operators, such as the SlideSmart DC and SwingSmart DC, to hydraulic industrial operators, barrier arms and crash-rated vehicle barriers. The SlideSmart DC and the SwingSmart DC 20 are rated for continuous duty, and both run on the Smart DC Controller, which shows its alerts and faults in plain text on a display.

The built-in entrapment sensor tripped twice: once, which put the gate in Safe Mode, and again before the gate reached a full limit. The operator then stops and will not run until it is reset with RESET, the button on the operator, or an Open or Stop push button. Find what the gate hit before resetting it.
Current HySecurity operators will not run automatically until every sensor input is set and the monitored sensors pass their check. Slide operators need two monitored sensors, one for each direction; swing operators need at least one. A missing or failed photo eye shows as FAULT 2.
Repair it when the motor and gearbox are sound and parts are available. Replace it when the same unit keeps failing, the parts are gone, or the gate is heavier or longer than the operator is rated for.
