WHO WE SERVE — 08

One controlled entrance, and a record of everyone who used it.

01 — THE THREAT
SIX SIDE DOORS PROPPED OPEN AT PICKUP.

A campus does not fail at the front door. It fails at the six side doors that get propped during pickup because the alternative is walking around the building, and at the one place the playground fence stops.

So the plan is consolidation, not addition: a single credentialed entrance with a video intercom, the remaining doors credentialed so staff can use them without leaving them open, and the perimeter closed where it is currently open. Everything is specified to keep egress and fire compliance intact, because a school that cannot evacuate is not secure.

02 — WHAT ACTUALLY GOES WRONG
3 PATTERNS

Where it fails on this property type

Unauthorized adults at pickup

Custody issues and strangers, both handled by one entrance with a person and a camera on it.

Propped side doors

A door held open by convenience beats any credential. Consolidation and door-position monitoring answer it.

Playground perimeter

Where the fence ends is where the plan ends. Usually a short, cheap fix once someone walks it.

03 — WHAT WE INSTALL
THE STACK

What we install here

01
Vehicle gates and pickup-lane control where the site needs traffic separated.
02
Playground and perimeter fencing closed at the open edges.
03
One credentialed main entrance with video intercom, and credentialed staff doors with position monitoring.
04
Entry, corridor and lot coverage under a written policy about footage of minors.
05
Cabling and switching to support the entry and camera systems across buildings.
04 — CODE & COMPLIANCE
3 REQUIREMENTS

Specified up front, not corrected at inspection

Egress and lockdown

Doors always openable from inside. Lockdown secures from the outside only, per fire code, and is documented for your drills.

ADA at the controlled entrance

Reach range on the intercom, clear space, and an accessible route from the pickup lane.

Vetting and camera policy

Crews are background-checked for campus work, and footage of minors is governed by a written retention and access policy.

05 — WHAT DRIVES COST
5 FACTORS

What drives the cost here

Scoped to the property, not a per-unit rate card. These are the factors that move the number, in the order they usually matter.

FACTOR
WHY IT MATTERS
Openings and lockdown scope
How many doors are credentialed, and how many secure together on one command.
Visitor management integration
Whether the entrance ties into the system your office already uses for badges.
Perimeter fencing
Measured feet at the open edges, driven by terrain and finish.
Coverage and retention
Camera count plus how long footage is held under your policy.
Scheduling
Summer and break work carries different labor timing than an occupied campus.
06 — COMMON OBJECTIONS
3 ANSWERED

What people usually push back on

"We cannot lock doors — fire code."

Nobody is locking anyone in. Credentialed doors are locked from the outside and free from the inside, which is exactly what code requires. We put the specification in writing for your inspector.

"Parents will worry about cameras on children."

They should ask. We write the retention window, who can view footage and how requests are handled into the scope, so you can answer the question with a policy instead of an opinion.

"It has to be done over the summer."

That is how we schedule campus work. A phased plan with dated milestones, so you are open on the first day.

FIELD RESULT

A K-8 campus in Ventura

Six side doors unlocked through every pickup. We consolidated to one credentialed entrance with a video intercom, credentialed the remaining doors with position monitoring, and closed the two open playground edges.

Schools and Daycares FAQs

Are your crews background-checked for campus work?

Yes, and we provide documentation before anyone is on site.

Can the office see who came in?

Every credentialed entry is logged with a name and time, and the main entrance has video attached to it.

Does this work with our visitor badge system?

In most cases. Tell us the platform and we will confirm the integration in the estimate.

Tell us about your schools and daycares.

Name, phone and ZIP. We walk it before we price it.
