Structured Cabling in Calabasas, CA

Cameras, gate operators and access controllers all depend on one thing: the cable, the switch and the power behind them. Structured cabling means every run is certified, labeled and documented — not just terminated — so a fault is easy to isolate and the system holds up for years, not months.

PERMITS & PROCESS

Most Calabasas properties we work on sit inside an HOA with its own architectural review process on top of city permitting — gate and fence design usually needs HOA sign-off before it needs a city permit. We build the submittal package for both from the start.

Cameras, gate operators and access controllers all depend on one thing: the cable, the switch and the power behind them. Structured cabling means every run is certified, labeled and documented — not just terminated — so a fault is easy to isolate and the system holds up for years, not months.

PROCESS
4 STEPS

How we build it in Calabasas

01

Site walk

Every device that needs a link, how far it is, and what conduit or power already exists.

02

Design & media choice

Copper, fiber or wireless per run, PoE budget and segmentation, on a drawing.

03

Install & certify

Runs pulled, terminated, certified and labeled; switches configured.

04

Documentation & monitoring

You get the as-built drawing, and we watch for the link that starts failing.

COST
5 FACTORS

What drives the cost

Scoped to your property, not a flat per-item rate. These are the factors that move the number, in the order they usually matter.

FACTOR
WHY IT MATTERS
Runs & distance
Every device needing a link, and how far each is from the rack.
Media
Copper is cheapest, fiber costs more per foot, wireless trades cable for hardware.
Trenching & access
Concrete, landscaping and rock decide most of the labor outdoors.
Enclosures & environment
Outdoor cabinets, heat and surge protection at the far end.
Redundancy
Battery, UPS and cellular failover, priced per point, not per site.
FAQ
3 QUESTIONS

Structured Cabling FAQs

Why does a security system need its own network?

Cameras, operators and controllers all share the same wire and compete with everything else on site. Their own segment keeps recording steady and stops a compromised device reaching your office network.

How do you get network to a gate far from the building?

Copper is reliable to about 100 meters. Past that we run fiber in conduit where trenching is possible, or a licensed-band wireless bridge where it isn't.

What happens to cameras and gates in a power cut?

Switches, recorders and controllers go on battery and UPS, so the system keeps recording and the gate keeps cycling through a typical outage.
